Improving Waste & Resource Recovery Board Governance

We understand the specific governance issues facing the Waste and Resource Recovery sector.

Developed and tested in consultation with a Waste and Resource Recovery Think Tank, the Governance Evaluator Waste and Resource Recovery solutions address the six priorities set by the Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change for Suburban Development, to be delivered in collaboration with agencies such as DELWP, Sustainability Victoria, EPA, Local Councils, Industry and the community.

Waste and Resource Recovery boards registered with Governance Evaluator can assess their governance performance and identify areas for improvement in relation to good governance standards as well as those priority areas specific to the sector:

  1. Assess Waste and Resources Needs
  2. Waste and Resource Recovery Implementation Plan
  3. Local Government Program Implementation
  4. Regionally specific designed programs
  5. Reporting Rigour
  6. Advisory Role

“Governance Evaluator… gave us, as directors, the ability to analyse ourselves and other without being confrontational. Along with governance evaluation, the process provides excellent board and director development outcomes.
