Improving Community Transport Board Governance
Governance Evaluator is established as a highly effective solution for strong governance in community transport organisations. This is enabled by our ongoing engagement with key sector partners and experts who bring the latest industry and consumer knowledge.
Developed in consultation with long-term partners Aon and informed by a Community Transport think tank, the Governance Evaluator Community Transport solutions contain up to date and relevant sector content that enable boards to quickly and easily build governance capability insights that are clear, visual and actionable.
“We recently undertook a board evaluation and capability process with Governance Evaluator and used one of their accredited convenors to lead the process.
As a board we recognised there were many governance areas in which we could and should improve and that we needed to go in a different direction; but being a volunteer board we often did not have the time or a plan on how to rectify these. The Governance Evaluator review gave us a clear understanding of the priorities on what needed to improve and has enabled us to focus on these.
With the guidance of Governance Evaluator we have since instituted a skills audit outlining the gaps in the skills of the existing board and have introduced an active recruitment plan which has been very successful for attracting four new highly skilled directors. We are just about to take a look at our board policies, KPIs and mentoring; and I am confident that this will all be supported by the great resources in the platform.
I would highly recommend Governance Evaluator for all your governance requirements. It is easy to use and you are supported by the wonderful Governance Evaluator team. I can’t stress how much support and confidence they gave me to really have a plan moving forward and that we could achieve it.”
